Skovsgaard Estate
Here you will find ecology and experiences for the whole family. Experience the site's 700-year history through exhibitions and activities, where you can borrow equipment and materials to experiment with products from agriculture and forestry.
The estate is now owned by the Danish Nature Foundation, but was once a noble manor. In the main building you will find art exhibitions about the history of the estate and the people who lived there from 1887 to 1979. There are four permanent exhibitions:
- Carriage and Wagon Museum
- Tractor and machinery exhibition
- Lordship and Servants Exhibition
- Art exhibition
The Danish Nature Conservation Association has a nature guide on site who guides children and adults daily in nature or in the nature education workshop, which was once a pigsty. Here you can, for example, felt with wool, make new paper from old newspapers, and catch small animals and see them under a stereo magnifying glass in the nature workshop's "nerd corner". However, during some periods the workshop is only open for self-service.
Also visit the estate's café, which serves delicious snacks and meals with herbs and vegetables, which are of course organic and from the surrounding area.
