Archipelago hotspot for water activities

SHORES Langeland is a project created by locals, with the desire to realize Langeland's potential as a hotspot for water activities in the South Funen Archipelago. Based on Langeland's nature, a new culture of activity and sports is created along the coast and at sea, with a special focus on children and young people.
Hotspots for water activities on Langeland
SHORES Langeland has designated 10 hotspots with particularly good water activity conditions on Langeland. The hotspots are spread across the island and include the following activities:

In Dageløkke, 7 kilometers from Emmerbølle Camping, there are good conditions for SUP, kayaking, and kitesurfing. A further 8,3 kilometers away, Nordstranden in Lohals offers windsurfing, kayaking, SUP, angling, and sailing.
At Hesselbjerg beach, 4,7 kilometers from Ristinge Camping, it is recommended to kitesurf, windsurf, and stand-up paddleboard. A good 10 kilometers further away in Gulstav, there are conditions for fishing, and this is also one of the three hotspots with conditions for underwater hunting. The hotspot with the most opportunities is in Bagenkop, 13,6 kilometers from the site, where there are particularly good conditions for diving, kayaking, SUP, kitesurfing, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, and sea and ice swimming. There is also a sauna on site.

Future features and improvements
SHORES Langeland is working to establish new facilities at 4 of the 10 hotspots. Their concept paper from June 2022 outlines five layout proposals, which concern the following locations:

 
At each of the five locations, they will construct a building and framework structures in the landscape that embrace the character of the site and increase the contact between land and water. In addition, the project is based on principles of accessibility, safety, and incorporating sustainability. For example, the concept presentation has been screened by the Danish Council for the Disabled and the TRYG Foundation, and buildings and materials can be scaled and reused elsewhere as needed.

Sauna with panoramic sea views
On Lohals Nordstrand 15,3 kilometers from Emmerbølle Camping, the “HOUSE” will be placed in extension of the existing toilet building. The building will contain an indoor living area with kitchenette, toilet and changing room, storage for equipment and miscellaneous items, outdoor shower, sun deck, and sauna. From the latter there will be a panoramic view of the sea, and in the same direction a slightly floating bathing jetty. When the project is completed, it is expected that the location will be updated with icons for swimming and kitesurfing on the hotspot map.

New launch tower on Langeland
In Bagenkop, 13,6 km from Ristinge Camping, “SPRINGET” and “BOARDWALK” will be built in the old ferry pier and on the beach, respectively. The former involves a completely new diving tower with the possibility of diving from 1,5 to 15 meters and a swimming pool delimited by the outdoor area with an activity bridge (floating bridge on stilts). Furthermore, a building will be built with a dedicated room for a clubhouse and meeting room, toilet and changing room, and sauna. The latter project involves an access bridge to increase accessibility in the area. The bridge will lead out to the existing bathing jetty, and on the way you will pass a smaller building for, among other things, hanging wetsuits.
